I wanted the arrangement to look random, like I added to it over time (which I have and will continue to do!)
My attempt to emulate the lady in Proverbs 31:25 in the Bible. "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." Laughing at the days to come means to me that I trust God with the days ahead, I enjoy life where I'm at and not worry too much about the future. I hope that this blog with keep me accountable for my life and time at home with baby, keep our friends and family informed of our life, and be an outlet to share my projects I'm doing at home.

Welcome on in!
Yay! So I "finished" the art wall in our entryway. I say "finished" because I'll probably add to it over time. I wanted some kind of welcome art and had been admiring some in Pottery Barn Home with the word "welcome" spelled out in mismatched letters and numbers in white on a white background. I scoped out the letters in Michaels and Joanne's lamenting the fact that "welcome" has so many letters in it, as those letters add up. And it seemed kind of formal for us, and then I saw these sweeties:
They were right next to each other (alphabetical, you know) and it clicked. Much more fun! I have always liked the size and font of these letters from Joanne's. So I painted them up with two coats of leftover "Happy Camper" from Behr. Easy peasy! I hung them up with those strips from 3M that come off easily. Behold the less welcoming before:
And the much more welcoming after!
The clear files on the wall are to store things that I don't want to forget as I go out the door (but still do). They looked very antiseptic before, but now they look a little more mod and cozied up.

Welcome Art
I have been drooling over these images for awhile now:
Look on the wall!
On.. Beadboard... I'm dying...
I thought it would be a good way to welcome-ify our entryway. So I went to Bethesda Thrift Store, which I find is the most crafty. I found some embroidery hoops on my first try! Two for $.59 and one for a hefty $.19. Yes! I just used my new fabric stash to fill them.
To try and get them flush with the wall, I gathered the fabric in the back and tried to sew it in. I think I've seen that done in the past.
Aren't they cheerful? I'm going to try and find a medium-sized one. And probably just buy every one that I find thrifting from now on and keep adding until it fills the whole wall because I love it so much. Or until it looks like the Apartment Therapy post.
